The Cancun Resort
In to our final day.  We sure cannot complain about the weather!  Yesterday, another really fun day.  Started out as usual.  Kelli is preparing for her exams the first part of May so we get up and she hits the books for a bit while I go for my workout.  Then we have breakfast, head down to the pool for a couple more hours before heading off  We hit the other premium mall yesterday.  Didn’t spend a lot of time there before heading back down to the strip.  We went to the Belagio and saw the fountains, wandered through the lobby and casinos there and headed over to Creasers Palace.  The Forum shops were really cool.  It really did feel like you were outside wandering the streets of Rome.  There was an indoor butterfly conservatory, and flower gardens and lots of other neat things to see.  We shopped a little more….nothing serious but fun to wander in and out of the various shops.  We had supper at a deli before heading off to the Terry Fater show.  My friend Margaret was here last year and went to this show and told me she ABSOLUTELY LOVED it and made me promise we’d go.  Terry Fater won America’s Got Talent a few years back.  He is a ventriloquist who does song impersonations of many stars.  I must agree with Margaret!  The show was absolutely phenomenal.  We both enjoyed Cirque du Soleil but I think we liked this even better!  If you ever get a chance to see him I would highly recommend it!  Kelli confessed after the show that she hadn’t really been looking forward to going but was just humoring me.  I had told her that I trusted Margaret’s recommendation but she thought we were probably going to something not great!  She had a whole different attitude after the show!  I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.  It was great from start to finish!
The girls with "Winston"!
Today, we are going to try our hand at black jack.  We watched a table last night.  Scary how fast people can drop a few hundred bucks here.  There was a guy at the table that was winning big time, started making $100 bets and within about five minutes he was just about down to nothing.  Still, we both agree, the gambling is part of the Vegas experience so we’ve got a small budget and we’re going to play for a bit just to say we tried it.

We won’t get through the entire strip but have a few more places we want to see today.  We leave early tomorrow morning….our flight leaves at 7 AM so don’t think we’ll have a late night tonight!  Back to the land of long pants and sweaters….I write this sitting by the pool in my swim suit!  Oh well…spring not far off.  Dad’s been sending me emails from the lake….he’s already played a few rounds of golf so shorts weather won’t be far off.

We have had such a good time.  Vegas, as I have said before, has never been high on m list of must visit places but it has been a fun place to spend some relaxing time with Kelli.  Really, the trip wasn’t so much about the place, it was always more about the chance to get away and spend a little time together!  Even when my kids were young I used to love those one on one times.  I remember hiking into Egypt Lake with Geoff when he was a teenager like it was yesterday!  Probably my all time favourite trip with Kelli was our trip to Disneyland a couple of years ago…..a trip I had promised her since she was six years old!  We had a blast!
This picture will terrify Bill!
Time to get home and start writing thankyou notes to manyof you who have donated to the Ride to Conquer Cancer.  The Honey Badgers have now raised $32,000 thanks to many of you!!  If I haven’t connected with you it’s only because I have such limited computer access here but rest assured you will be hearing from me in the next day or so!  Love you!
