These pictures were a labor of love tonight. Slowest internet on the planet. We arrived at Bryce Canyon Last night. Spectacular red hoodoos. Never seen anything like it! The Patricks and Lenzins got there earlier in the day and reserved us a campsite which was a good thing because by the time we arrived at 5 PM everything was totally full. We Went up to Sunset Point to watch the sunset.....not that spectacular....probably because we arrived a little late Were determined to catch the sunrise this morning so everyone (except Barb) was up at 6 bells. We headed off to Inspiration Point, but it was pitch black and we missed the turnoff! The bonus was we saw an antelope, some deer and a fox who scooted out onto the highway in front off to snatch up some roadkill for breakky!!! Yum yum!
Realized we had overshot our destination and made a quick retreat to Inspiration Point. We were not disappointed. The sunrise was beautiful and the rock formations below us were unlike anything I have ever seen before. This is amazing country. We returned to the campsite for breakfast, packed up and headed off for our next destination, Page, Arizonia. More fabulous scenery along the way. It is about 32 degrees here. We went and visited the dam at Lake Powell. We toured the facility and it was quite amazing.
Tomorrow we are doing a 5 hour float trip on the Colorado River. Have to be at the site at 7 AM. Judging from what we saw today it should be a great day. Once we finish that we will be heading off to the Grand Canyon. Lots of driving but it’s all good because there is lots to see. I am still a little in my down swing so sitting and site seeing is working well for me.
Fun to be here with friends! Right now it is “Happy Hour” and then we are going to go out for Mexican Food!
A beautiful picture of you and Bill!
